DUBAI – His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, the Vice Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, and HE Nasser Al Rahma, Assistant Secretary General of DSC, visited the Dubai Muscle Show on Friday, the opening day of the two-day event at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
The second edition of the Dubai Muscle Show, being organised in collaboration with Dubai Sports Council, has attracted some of the world’s biggest athletes like Eddie Hall, the current World’s Strongest Man, two former Mr Olympia winners Ronnie Coleman and Jay Cutler, and Big Ramy – the Arab world’s most prominent bodybuilder, and more than 150 of the world’s leading sports nutrition, fitness and bodybuilding brands.
The leading international fitness and bodybuilding show in the Middle East, the show will connect more than 20,000 global fitness consumers, professional athletes, personal trainers and bodybuilders from across the world, thanks to a remarkable five-fold growth over it debut year.
In 2016, the Dubai Muscle Show was held at Dubai International Marine Resort, but this year the exhibition has moved to the DWTC’s Zabeel Halls with more 14,000 square metres of exhibition space.
“After the success of last year’s Dubai Muscle Show, we are delighted with the growth of this year’s event,” said Hessa Al Kous, Director of Sports Events at Dubai Sports Council. “The show provides an opportunity for thousands of local fitness enthusiasts to participate in high-level sporting contests and fitness events such as CrossFit, and the Emirates Strongman and Strongwoman competition.
“On a broader scale, it gives the general public an opportunity to gain inspiration from the show’s elite athletes, find out about new ways of staying fit and learn about nutrition and healthy eating from some of the world’s leading sports nutrition companies, aiding Dubai’s plans to become the most active city in the world.”
This year, the Emirates’ Strongest Man and Woman competition will make its debut at the Dubai Muscle Show along with its brand-new international fitness and active-living show, DMS Active.
“While Eddie, Ronnie, Jay and Ramy provide a sprinkle of star power to the event, our year-on-year growth reflects the culture shift being seen in Dubai and across the UAE as more and more people adopt fitness-driven lifestyles – that’s been a key factor in the launch of DMS Active, which adds a finer fitness concept to the brawn of our traditional bodybuilding elements,” said Nick Blair, Exhibition Director, Dubai Muscle Show, which is organised by Dubai-based HBG Events.
